Hey folks! My recent shoots both have involved the word "roller" and the concept of going very fast, often in a spectator environment! The first event is the Roller Derby bout from last Saturday here in Bend. Stay tuned for the second "roller" related event in a few days! Check it out....
Well, I've been super busy these past weeks, with work and some great shooting assignments. So busy in fact, that it is difficult to get all of the steps done! Photography is about so much more than simply pushing the button. From start to finish the workflow is a very time consuming process, particularly when I have a less-than stellar-performance and have to do a bunch of post-processing/editing work! Grrrr.

I recently sat down to coffee with DEE MORALIZER from the Lava City Roller Dolls here in Bend, to discuss doing some ongoing shooting for their roller derby league. Pretty exciting stuff and I always enjoy going to see some derby!! Last Saturday was my first visit to them and these are a few of the image results...they have a great space, but the lighting is pretty tough to deal with. Particularly since I don't yet have the budget for a "super-fast" long-telephoto lens, such as this. If you get into sports photography you better have some serious funding!!It was great fun and I look forward to capturing more of the LCRD ladies' exciting sport! Check out the Bend Derby league!! And, take a look at the rest of these images right here!
