Low key and relaxing Saturday. I've been catching up on some tasks and spending more efforts on enhancing and coordinating all of this new web presence. I've been pretty astonished and overwhelmed with what options are out there in terms of social networking, information sites, feeds, blah, blah, blah. My apologies to those followers who may have gotten blasted with several "test" posts involving this video (see below) as I figured out different configurations to get the thing to fit on my blog page. Also, making an attempt here to activate the Twitter feed as well. Those of you who have graciously connected to me here...thanks again and again. Patience young grasshoppers...I will be "dialed" soon (I hope). Two types of "dreaming"...far off places and ideal situations.
Thinking of people I care about that are far away and wishing I could see them more. My partner, Margo, is in Patagonia currently. She is working for NOLS, leading climbing trips for the next month and half. Thinking of her today made me also reflect on our trip to Europe in 2009 around this time. THAT made me think of Paris, which is why you see the photo above. I took roughly 2000 images on that 2.5 week trip through Paris, Rotterdam, and London. I am still sorting and editing them...dreaming of more travel soon, hopefully!
The other "dream" is captured in this video from Seattle photographer, Chase Jarvis. Chase is a prolific shooter and his success is an example of what is possible in this business/art form. Truly inspirational in terms of vision, creativity, and how he has assembled an amazing team of people. I just discovered his website and blogs a couple weeks back and have been spending an inordinate amount of time devouring all of the info. Great stuff for aspiring and dreaming photogs. I can only dream of being involved in an outfit of this magnitude, fun, and scope someday...well, it keeps me inspired and gives me something to "shoot" for!!
